What’s New in Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk 2020 Model

jeep cherokee trailhawk

The Cherokee brand has been back since 2014 and it continues to get better every time. Jeep is associated with the outdoors and the Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk ramps up the brand’s off-pavement capabilities. It is available in seven different trim levels and provides something for everyone who is looking for a capable and stylish SUV. The Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk is our favorite Cherokee as it provides an attractive mix of standard equipment and severs off-road capacity. With the Trailhawk, you can attain the optional 2.0-liter turbo engine with extra power and improved fuel economy over V6. Here, we are discussing the new features in the Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk 2020 model.

The trail-rated 2020 Cherokee Trailhawk was tested, and it was found that the “trail-rated” is not the right term. In fact, it is much more than simply a badge on a Jeep’s side.

Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk: What’s New For 2020?

No important changes were made for the 2020 model. There are a few small things, like the Sangria and Spitfire Orange exterior paint colors and accessible 19-inch wheels for Limited models, but other than this, the Jeep Cherokee does not have many changes in 2020.

New features in the Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk 2020 model

Standard Features

Our 2020 Cherokee Trailhawk Elite 4X4 tester (($34,505) came basic with leather upholstery; attractive front seats and steering wheel; an improved driver display in the gauge cluster; a touchscreen infotainment system of 8.4 inches; and an audio system that comes with nine-speaker.

The off-road themed Jeep Trailhawk comes with an advanced all-wheel-drive system. It comes with Active Drive II with the Active Drive Lock. It has wide wheels and all-terrain tires; high ground clearance; off-road-oriented suspension tuning; locking the rear differential; hill ascent as well as descent controls; tow hooks, skid plates, and unique upholstery.

Tech and Towing are the optional features

Optional packages on the tester include the Elite Package ($3,195) with front seats that has proper ventilation, a power liftgate, and a remote start.

The Technology group ( $1,595) added a full-speed forward collision warning with the automatic emergency braking; traffic-adaptive cruise control; warning about the lane departure; automated wipers; automatic high-beams; and an automatic parking system that works for both perpendicular and parallel spots.

A Trailer Tow Package available at a price of $795 added a stand-alone transmission cooler and a Class III hitch:  a trailer wiring harness for both four and seven-pin systems, and a whole-size spare tire. It also comes with a sunroof of $1,595, navigation that costs $895, and black colored aluminum wheels that cost $655.

What is the cost of the 2020 Jeep Cherokee?

Total MSRP, including the destination, for the 2020 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk tester, the price comes to $45,425. The 2020 Jeep Cherokee starts at a price of $25,840 with a front-wheel drive and a base latitude trim. However, the price of the Trailhawk 4X4 starts at $34,755.

Sleek and Warm Interiors

As far as the interiors of the car are concerned, the Trailhawk comes with lather and superior touches like the ventilated and heated front seats. Several other premium touches include a rear backup camera, remote start, a power liftgate, four-way driver lumbar adjustments, and eight-way power driver’s seat. There are some hard plastics also, but that makes it easy for cleaning after a dusty drive on a high-country road.

Styling

One of the interesting new features in the Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk 2020 Model is its styling. The 2020 Jeep Cherokee is unquestionably sharp but lacks the quirky weirdness and character of the past iterations. Gone are the controversial divided headlights in favor of more conventional design, and while the change makes the Cherokee look like its “Grander” sibling, it is less interesting than in the past years, and nowhere near as pleasant as its boxy predecessor.

The interior of this car is subdued and business-like, again like the Grand Cherokee, and features a regular design that stresses functioning over form. Soft-touch materials thrive, and little Easter Egg details like small Jeeps on the interior glass and in infotainment screens raise intrigue, but many competitors feature large numbers of interesting designs with the same quality. This Trailhawk model is one of the attractive and popular Cherokee, presenting high ground clearance, knobby tires, and red accents like interior trim details and tow hooks that make it look like off-road-ready as it really is.

Performance

One of the important features in the Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk is a trio of engines, one of which is superior to its comrades. Experts give it 6 out of 10 with special consideration for the Trailhawk trim’s off-road capability. As standard, the Cherokee gets a 2.4 liter inline 4 that is shared with Compass, and it is outmatched in a large SUV like the Cherokee. With 180 horsepower and 171 pound-feet of torque, you are better off selecting one of the enhanced engines if possible.

A 3.2-liter V-6 provides old-school power and enhanced refinement makes 271 hp and 239 lb-ft and comes standard on some of the models. A relatively new 2.0-liter turbo- 4 is the best option of the three, providing 270 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque, enhancing both the power of the V-6 and fuel economy of inline-4.

how to buy Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk

Front-wheel drive is standard and all-wheel drive is optional, and the just transmission option is a 9-speed automatic that has similar issues here as in another Jeep model. Namely, it is hesitant to move and indecisive when choosing a gear upon the acceleration.

A recently updated suspension has made Cherokee a relaxed cruiser and competent handler. Towing capacity is 4,500 pounds with V-6 well-equipped, but the turbo-4 can handle about 4,000 pounds. Skip the inline-4 if you expect to tow, as it can manage 2,000 pounds.

This Trailhawk model is for those who want to take their Cherokee off-road several times. An upgraded suspension, good ground clearance, enhanced approach and departure angles, a lockable rear differential, and the trick traction management software make Cherokee one of the most capable crossover SUV off the compressed path, though many who want augmented off-road prowess will probably choose the Jeep Wrangler instead.

Quality and comfort

Jeep Cherokee 2020 delivers on comfort and material quality but lags practicality and interior room. Compared to its rivals, the Cherokee is narrower, and thus surrenders some interior space when compared to top competitors. Its front seats provide good support, but the seating position can offset some of the drivers. At 40.1 inches of leg space upfront and up to 40.3 inches in the rear side, the Cherokee is quite comfortable for four adults, but accommodating three in the rear seat is a bit tricky.

It comes with a cargo space of 29.1 cubic feet with rear seats pushed as far forward as they can go but drops to 24.6 cubes when in their most rear position. That is markedly less than top rivals, as is available 54.9 cubic feet available with rear seats folded down, about 15 cubic feet less than the airy offerings.

Despite its less space, the cabin features high-quality materials and some of the most relaxed seats in the business, mainly when finished in Nappa leather on high-trim models. Storage cubbies thrive as well, with a glove box, large center console, huge cupholders, a small bin at the mid of the dashboard along with a slot for a cellphone at the bottom of the center stack.
