Driving automatic car downhill when in gear- You should never drive your automatic car downhill by putting gear. This will affect the whole control of your car. When you drive downhill on gear, you cannot accelerate in neutral mode and can slow down by using the brake pedal. Also, you must first come to halt before shifting it to the “D” to start the acceleration, which will be difficult to drive on a slope. Moving to N when your car is in motion- You should always put your car in neutral gear when you have stopped the car. Changing to a neutral gear while moving will increase the chances of wear and tear on transmission mechanism.
Not keeping your foot on the dead pedal while driving- One of the riskiest mistakes that many drivers driving an automatic car do is to use both the right and left leg to drive. Automatic cars have two pedals. One is the accelerator and the other one is brakes.
